Group 25/26 Gathering

It's been quite a number of years since the last gathering of group 25 and 26. Time flies! We are "older" now, not sure about wiser though.

6 out of the 40+ people attended the gathering. Some of us have forgotten each name, and not sure whether we’re group mates before (even though they were in the same campus)! This is not good. We need to have more gatherings in the future!

CNY Decos @ Midvalley & Gardens

Below is a feel of the Chinese New Year decorations in The Gardens and Midvalley.

In Midvalley, they made use of “tanglungs” and the art of paper cutting. The Gardens is my favourite - pink lights with peach blossom flower. It’s so lovely~

Yuya's Newborn

For those who are in MMU group 25 and 26 (batch 2002/03) and whoever who knows Yuya, she had given birth to her first daughter, Natasha Adriana. Madhu, Alex and I visited her at her parent's place in Bangi a day after Christmas.

Momo Japanese Restaurant @ Centre Point

This Japanese restaurant has quite a number of set meals at a good price. There are a few combos for the set meals, some come with chawanmushi and fruits, or chawanmushi only etc.

This set consist of tempura and unagi, rice, fruits, chawanmushi and miso soup (if I am not mistaken is RM 23.90, excluding tax and service charge)

CNY Decos @ The Curve

Yesterday, the ex DSU interns, batch 2005 had a gathering in The Curve. Guess what, we saw many huge lilies there.

I heard that this restaurant is very popular in Subang. However, I had been to the one in Centre Point in Bandar Utama. The food there is nice, even though it’s a bit pricy. My favourite there is pasta!

Izzi Restaurant

Don’t confuse yourself with the wireless broadband provider, also known as Izzi. I recently visited this restaurant called Izzi in Damansara Uptown. They were having a promotion at that time for dine-in food. After eating the pasta and the beef noodle, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. However, I saw a lot of people ordering their pizzas. Perhaps those are their signature dishes.

Tony Roma's

Tony Roma’s is a western food restaurant with a lot of branches around KL and Selangor. Sometime in December, I visited this restaurant in Pavilion with a colleague. The fries resemble the one in Carl’s Junior but they are thinner. The portion is huge!

Camp Forest @ Kepong

Camp Forest is a vegetarian restaurant in Kepong. The price is of the average restaurant and according to the banner, they use organic vegetables. My first impression of the restaurant is, it's like dining in a park, with plants, river, sitting on a wooden bench. The environment is quite nice and the food too!

Free Dessert @ Midori, Cineleisure

For those who didn't know, which 4 movie stacks from Cineleisure Damansara, you can claim for a free dessert at Midori (selected options), Cineleisure. It's quite a good deal. The movie stacks need not be purchased on the same day. Below is a sample of the dessert (original price is RM10.90 excluding tax/service charge):

Korean Restaurants in KL/Selangor

These few weeks, I had been to 2 Korean restaurants.

The first one was at Midvalley, same floor as GSC. The food looks nice, but it doesn’t taste that Korean. The kimchi soup is very mild and watery.

The second one was Daorae Garden Korean BBQ in . It is the Korean restaurant with the most authentic Korean taste in Malaysia, I have ever tasted. The price is okay and the portion is a lot. The side dishes are more than we expected and we can refill for free! In addition, their service is good. After the meal, they served us an extra dish, watermelons and rice drink. The boss’ wife even came over and asked if we like the food.

Note: The Kimchi soup is not as spicy as the authentic one. Perhaps they have Malaysian-zed it.
