Granny’s Homecook Food

I have always been my granny’s fan when it comes to food. My granny can cook almost any Chinese cuisine under the sun. When it comes to the Dragon Boat Festival, we get to eat dumplings. When it comes to Mooncake Festival, we get to eat mooncake. When I was young I look forward to the weekend lunch in granny’s place. Granny would cook my favourite dishes and soup. Simply delicious and energizing! More effective than any supplements I ever have.

In recent years, granny’s health deteriorated tremendously. She has difficulties moving around freely and starting to forget things – suspect to be the early stage of Alzheimer’s disease. Despite her health condition, she still cooks my favourite soup whenever I go back to Penang.

So morale of the story – Good food does not mean that it has to be expensive. Other than the taste, it is a form of love by those who cook to those who consume.

Last meal @ granny's old house. Now the place had been demolished.
