Germans' farewell party, 7pm-1am

15 August, Monday – I was extremely sleepy and tired after coming back from the trip. I went for lunch at 12pm with Ryan and Yushu at a restaurant nearby. I ordered a plate of fried rice but I find the servings very little. Maybe it was because I was taking too much food for the past 2 days. After lunch, we went back to the dormitory and were fast asleep after that.

I slept for about 3 hours as I was not really having a nice sleep the night before. I woke at 5pm. Shortly after that, Eileen informed me about the German’s farewell party at 7pm. They will be going back to Germany on Wednesday, Sunday and early next month. They were going to have “samgyeoksa”. Wah… not again…We met up with the other Germans near McDonalds and went to a shop nearby. Apparently, the shop was having a very good business by catering only “samgyeoksa”. It was buffet style; we can take whatever ingredients that we want. The most common are slices of pork. There were marinated slices and some squid as well. We were actually more interested in the ice-cream there even though it was not very delicious. There were more than 20 of us, with some other Korean friends. It cost 5,500 won each and they treated us for this.

We finished our dinner at around 10am and departed to a pub nearby for some beer. Germans sure like beer. Again, we had food, food and food again there. Of course, we were not having “samgyeoksa” again there. There were fried chickens, a huge plate of fruits, barbecue squid, tofu soup, sour plum, steamed egg, corn with cheese etc. It was like another feast! A professor teaching German language in Busan National University was sitting next to me and we were having a nice talk. He was teaching here under a contract and his wife was a Korean, originated from Ulsan. We also talked to another Korean guy sitting just opposite us, Young Shu.

We went back at around 1am. It was a really tired day.

p/s: In Korea, many people can speak Chinese, but little can speak Japanese.
