Eileen's Farewell Party

September 23, Friday – I went back to the dormitory at around 5pm to prepare for the food for Eileen’s farewell party. Eileen will be going back to Malaysia tomorrow morning. Till this day, I still could not figure out why she wanted to go back so early. Hmm… she misses home so much?

Wei Shi volunteered to cook fried rice and fried noodles, so BJun and I were just helping out with the preparation and dishes. We spent 30 minutes washing all the dishes. There were many unwashed dishes in the basin. Then, we started cutting the tofu, onions etc. The progress was very slow because we were using the electric stove. The Indians were preparing some Indian food for the party as well. Since they are vegetarians, there was no meat in the food that they prepared.

At around 8pm, we were done with the cooking. The dishes looked quite nice but the taste was a bit flat. The party started soon after that. A lot of people attended it as Eileen invited her lab members and some other friends as well. The ratio of food to the number of people was unbalance. The food was not enough for all. Apparently, we have more snacks and soft drinks instead of having a proper meal.

We went back to our rooms after we were with all the eating. At around 11.30pm, we went up to the sky lounge again for cleaning as no one was doing it. Ryan and Yushu were extremely hardworking on that day. They volunteered to wash the dishes. Meanwhile, Ern Yu and Shu Yun were cooking ramyeon because they did not have enough food during the party.
